I use H & N Baracuda Match on my 25ft/lb Falcon. Seems to work a treat
SNAKEBITE
What is wrong with the AA own brand pellets? Surely if they work then why not use them as the track record in the AA barrels is excellent.
08shooter
my 400 xtra works great with aa but try and get 5.52 it will say on the bottom of the tin,i think that is the correct size for the barrel.as for promethus forget them i could group better with a slingshot, only pellets worth trying are aa field 5.52,bis magnums, and accupel out to 50 .the gun at high power not all pellets will suit.trust me i spent 2 years trying.they are a good gun but slightly noisy,i fitted a theoben silencer to mine to help qt it.you need to know any more shout me. have fun
deadeye ive
Sean I have 6 years experience on the S410 Fac in 35 ft lb............No need to go for the heavier pellet which will only give you a rainbow trajectory like it's 12 ft lb lightwieght Air Arms field at 16.40 grain will be fine and for even flatter shooting the crossman acupel which I think are 14 grn but have the shorter skirt ,you'll also have fewer shots as well with the acupell . At the end of the day with more power your trying to eliminate holdover and using a Bisely or barracuda magnum you'll have reintroduced pellet drop into the equation. I'm zero'd at 50 metres which is where I do most of my shooting but at closer ranges of 25/30 yds i still only put the cross air on the knapper with no allowance being made . There is also the powerband to consider ......My first few shots using a 16.40 grn pellet are around 32ft lb ,then a build up to 35 and back to 32 again spread over 40 shots (It use to be 50 ) Good luck and happy hunting . SNAKEBITE
Nicely put Ive, I think you have just about covered it there. I think there can be a preconception that running at 3x the "legal limit" will give you 3x the distance/speed or hitting power. I did realise that the Bisley mags are that pronounced traj' wise on a FAC air gun.
