Nikk
My daughter of 7 is chomping at the bit to get shooting but I don't think there is any hard in making them wait for something, get them buttoning at the clay ground, make it fun and enjoy some quality time together. We talk about gun safety all the time and she now even likes to check the chambers are empty as I take the gun from the slip. By not letting them do something straight away will make them want it even more rather than be a problem but as parents we are keen to get them started on their hobbies as early as possible maybe too early?. We did this with horse riding and she got put off for a while so we stopped and only started taking her again once she'd got a bit bigger. As much as I would love to have my little girl shooting with me we've got plenty of time. I also had a chat with the instructor I have had lessons with and his opinion was she was too small. Just enjoy your time together, test them on gun safety and make the whole experience lots of fun rather than dragging them round while you blast hundreds of clays in subzero conditions like I've stupidly done before lol
