Guest rimotu66
I have just bought a 2007 Ultra XS which has the extended chokes, ive been doing a bit of searching and am getting confused, do I have Midas or Invector? what size equates to 1/2 and 1/4 which are the sizes I want to use. Also do the standard flush fitting chokes fit, if they do is there any reason I should not use them?
wj939
Midas was the name given to the chokes on terms of their branding (I think briley did them) invector is the smaller choke pattern and thread browning offer, yours should be invector plus. This is a longer choke tube for back bored barrels. It should be stamped on the side of the breech by the ejector slide. The chokes I think they will be marked IC and M that's 1/4 and 1/2 respectively. You could use flush fitting invector plus chokes. I personally think the only advantage of extended chokes is that you can check they don't work loose.

Guest rimotu66
Thanks WJ, so I need IMP CYL and MOD then yes? Personally I just do not like the look of the extended ones and I can imagine the gold rings on the end will easily get damaged when out shooting, that's why I wanted to get some flush fitting ones. HDAV
You can pick up flush invector plus quite easily either browning originals or teague etc. there are advantages of extended chokes for some (AA and above) but for us mortals very very little difference..... HDAV
Teagues are good chokes just make sure you get a key for the flush ones
terrior
Hello If you don't like the gold colour, bear in mind they are titanium and changing to flush May alter the weight and balance. But if that's not an issue then sell them , they are around £70-£80 each Cheers
