marc020
My discovery has a real annoying rattle that happens only when driving, this occurs about 2250-2500 rpm,I have tried all obvious stuff like exhaust brackets, turbo heat shield and nearly anything else that is bolted down, tonight I was driving along and as it happened I gently lifted hand brake and the rattle stopped, still not sure what it is though, has anybody else had this happen to them and maybe know a cure as it is really getting annoying now
ditchman
had a similar rattle (frequency rattle ) on one of the td5's i had.........it turned out to be the stainless steel concertina joint between the manifold and the begining of the exhaust system......land rover said they would change it and charge me parts only at £ 480.00 as it was not part of the enjine train...it was stil under warranty.....i asked them with the enjine running how much was their showroom window was ..which i was parked infront of...and told them i was still getting used to the automatic..........they told me it would be ready for pick up the next day no-charge...(it was the 3rd disco i had from them )

ditchman
took me days to find out what it was as the rattle was only apparent coming up to 3rd shift then it dissapeared..it was a cross between a rattle and a rasp sort of thing... Crouch valley
I had a rattle on mine and it turned out to be a stone behind the Ace pipes and it was vibrating on the chassis.
