Normally between 20 and 40 yards. I use eley HB pigeon in plastic put through 1/4 and 3/4 choke ...I woulden't recommend taking em at 5 yards , unless you want pigeon pate that is

olimpic trap 28 seven and a halfs in first barrel and clear pigeon 30 / sixs in the second barrel

I use a three shot semi-auto and just stick 3 clear pigeon 30g 6's down it, the cartridges are 65mm long, do you think the theory about not using cartridges that are shorter than your chamber length holds any ground on not hitting things?B)??

ask your self this would you stand infront of a shotgun at 40 yards if it were loaded with

a 28 gram 7.5 ??

if you have the 28 gram 7.5 in the first barrel thats when the pigeon is at its closest and you

dont want to mince it do you B)

and if you happen to miss you have a 30gram 6 to bring it down with when the pigeon is further away

this also saves a little cash !
