Peter_HMR
I know another one of them posts this is more about equipment than anything I have a CZ .17hmr and have a rod with a bronze and nylon brushes and a mop. The rod isnt the best but does the job fine however I'd prefer a boresnake hoppes is obviously the favourite out there i think the only problem i have with it is that the bronze brush is built into in for a .17rimfire i dont think this is needed and does more harm than good. Is there any other brands that do just a boresnake or will i just stick with the mop and brushes Also do you oil your boresnake/mop or what way do you do it and how do you clean the bore I was thinking if the barrel gets really dirty give it a run of the bronze brush but for generaly use oil the mop and stick it through the barrel then go through with a dry boresnake afterwards and clean everything up. Frank
If not used correctly, a bore snake will harm your muzzle after a while, i tend to stay well clear of them myself. A good, plastic coated one peice Parker Hale Rod, should see you right. :look: http://www.chambersgunmakers.co.uk/Cleaning%20tools.htm Any good Gun shop in Ireland will have these in stock, Mc Bride in Athlone is Good. :yp: One more point, allways use a bore guied. Peter_HMR
i don't see how its going to wreck the muzzle if theres no bronze brush and i always make sure i pull straight and consistantly. As i said the kit i have is up for the job just dont like sticks.
