Tinribz
Got out today shooting a new permission with my mate mick. I lost my dad in november and we had planed to get out today so thoughts were with my old man but also i was looking forward to getting out on the rape with mick as we are in our first season with the 12s coming from airgunning the last couple of years. I used to shoot as a teenager under my dads ever watchfull eye but lost touch with it after taking up see fishing and alcohol. Anyway id been watching the birds getting on the field for a few days and had made a plan as to where to set up and direction of wind and flightlines set up a good patern of 12 full bodied 6 shells a magnet with a couple of fresh birds from the other day and got settled into our hide it wasnt a great day weather wise low sun in front no wind but it was worth a go. Anyway in the first 3 hours we had 13 birds down a few good shots a few easy and some sitters missed my old man would of been laughing up there some were that easy but still missed. Had a little quiet spell between 12 and 1 then they started to come back not as regular but enuf to drop another 7 and missed plenty more to finish with 20 and 4 hard hit birds lost a very enjoyable first trip on the rape we had 73 shots with honours about even the old man would of loved it im sure he would still be chuckling to himself about the sitters we missed anyway you can garentee next boxing day i will be out somewhere shooting in his memory from now on il call it dads day

THE AD
It's amazing how many people miss the sitters but can hit the long shots. At least you enjoyed it and thought of the good times with your dad
