last one :P

hey kip..

yeah you get other animals too..its just that these pics were taken in the afternoon and at this time you dont see many other animals around. there are lots of rabbits, porcupines, various varieties of small deer (which a good fac rifle could handle) etc. a good lamping session will see you all these other critters. and yes, you can eat these birds in the pics...very similar to chicken

ps: the weather is very hot during the day..so most of the shooting is done early morning or late evening. you also get wild boar..but you'll need a shottie for that

hey cranfield..

yes we usually have two types of widlfowl in this area that i know of...one's the sri lanka jungle fowl which is kinda common and the other is the spur fowl which is a protected species. usually no ducks/geese in this area mate...there's another place i go to by this big lake where you get ducks as well as herons/egret type of brids etc. yeah you can go fishing too if youre ever get tired of shooting...mostly local catfish and other river fish because water is muddy/murky aorund this area, nothing too large though..but if you go down river closer to where river meets the sea..you can catch some good game fish like large baramundi, mangrove jacks, knife fish and even Baracuda depending on time of the year(when more salt water comes into the river).
