Pigeon shooting!!

Recommended Posts

Morning Gents,
I have just moved to Edwinstowe near Mansfield, and the fields are full and I mean full of pigeons! I have been shooting fir years both driven game and pest so i,m like a kid in a sweatshop with no money!
Does anyone know who owns or has any permission around here? as I would love the chance of "getting among them" I know it's a long shot but someone must know? I intend on visiting all the local farms to try and find out,
Cheers

Ive tried around that area a few years back and was bumped every time because it was "game shot" and the keeper sorts the pests/ vermin.

But if the fields are full as you say, and they're doing damage to crops and not just on stubbles/ set aside then got to be worth an ask. If they are on stubbles it might be worth leaving it till they're on the rape etc. farmers are funny creatures, one farmer a friend shoots for wont let him shoot on the stubbles this time of year because he says the pigeons aren't doing any harm and by shooting he could push them onto his crops?!?!

Good luck.
