set out Sunday morning after work got to perm about 10.15 the sun was shining even though it's meant to be raining, the last few visits have produced the odd pigeon but mainly rooks and I was surprised how fast the rape had grown, as I drove up the track about two or three hundred birds lifted off the edge of the field and flew to a small wood adjoining it so I set up with my back to the wood I just got into the hide from setting up the rotary and half a dozen decs with a couple of rooks on edge of pattern and they started coming in mainly two and threes so shocked at seeing them come to the decs I panicked and missed the first few all easy shots but settled down and started to hit them, they came in slowly now and in the next two hours had about 18 added these to the pattern then it started to hail for the next half hour so stuck it out untill the sun shone and in the next two hours only managed another 5 so called it a day. went home with a big smile on my face, the cart ratio wasn't great but who cares I havnt had such a good day for a few months, if I wasn't at work the next week I would be there again. Sorry no pics can't figure out how to upload them yet will have to get my grandson round.
