welcome chris,

Go to your local gunshop and try out every gun that is within your price range. You will automatically realise which is the gun for you because it feels right.

Ignore the make of the gun and just go for the way it feels. Assuming you are going to be shooting vermin (such as pigeons) then the gun can be in the range of 12 bore to 28 bore- depending on your personal preferences.

Side by side or over and under? that is completley up to you, which ever feels right.

Hope this helps,

Tody

the first gun i got was a rizzini 12g o/u i used it for everything and because it was fairly cheap (180 quid) i bought a couple of better ones a few years later a remmington 1187 and a silver pigeon.....what a waste of money  i never use them now because im that used to the rizzini. so what ever you get make sure you dont spend a fortune on your first gun cos you never know!! safe shooting! :yp:
