Mr Majyk
well, i shall be spending my bank holiday monday blasting crows on a sheep farm where the crows are becoming a real pain in the backside! (I'm talking plague proportions here!) so was just wondering if anyone could offer some tips etc on whats best to do i.e. decoy pattern etc. I've only got a few crow decoys, 8 full bodied decoys, as I've always added a few to my pigeon decoy patterns and bagged a few crows as a result. but this time I'm out purely for crows which I've never done before. can anyone offer a bit of advice to help me out? any kinds of "bait" or similar such tricks i can use? also I've been given a few full bodied pigeon decoys which I've never used as they're a bit to bulky for my hide bag, could i get away with spraying them black and using them for the crows or would that just be a waste of time? ta all. birdsallpl
I would be inclined to stick with the Crow decoys. Don't put them too close together but in sort of rough pairs. Good luck
karpman
Yeah mate spray ya spare pigeons black, build the hide the day before if possible. There not all that hard to decoy if there having it but get setup in your hide before light breaks full camo face net gloves the whole deal. As you progress add crows to the pattern and a flapper or whirly can be deadly if there having it. My patterns tend to be fairly random with the odd sentry on a fence post or hedge, I use a primos caller and can't rate them highly enough. Make sure you have enough cartridge for clean kills, they bite fairly well lol. 32g 5's is my fave but have taken them with most pigeon/game carts. Have fun! TIGHTCHOKE
Camouflage and fieldcraft need to be spot on and a roof on your hide will help. Good luck
