Anyone been loading ITX?

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

Been looking at ITX recently, i've got a 2 3/4" chambered side by side with 26" barrels which is just perfect for shooting over some of the splashes i go on where the duck nip past soo quick.

I've used bismuth in the past with it but i'm almost out of them and was wondering about loading some ITX for next season?

Has anyone used it? Does it compare to ITM? ( which i have used )

thanks

mat

sorry this thread hasnt been replied to earlyer but thought someone would post about itx.

i have not used or shot itx.

i would try and convince you to shoot "niceshot" its similar to lead in lead loadings but gives max 1500psi more pressure.

if you are loading via a volumetric reloader, then it should be about 2 grams lighter than its lead equivalent. that reduction in volume / mass should produce near identical pressures to your machine made shells.

the reason i`d shoot "niceshot" is its a direct replacement for lead and can use "lead optimised" components. the downside is it costs about 25% more than itx. but you get the added advantage of using european powders / wads. you`ll save easily on european powder but not american stuff.

about an ounce for the duck in a 5 should do it.

niceshot should perform near identical internal and external ballistically.

there are a few recipes about for itx. but its all expensive / american....

good luck.
