islandgun
I recently came by this statement, CIP rules of proof for sintered (power shot in this instance) are the same as for lead shot. My 10g sbs is proofed to 1200bar, does this mean that I can reload sintered hevi shot using a lead recipe perhaps with a more protective wad or do I have to use sintered shot recipes, probably a daft question but one I've been struggling with. Guest cookoff013
you are getting confused. the cip proof regulations are that concerning pressure and speed (speed where steel is concerned) the shot material is not governed. did you know yo can get a 1050BAR lead load ? the only regulations to do with steel shot is the hardness and size. but over a size it goes to the second tier HP or 1050bar (in 12gauge)
