JONO
Anyone shoot within 50miles of Bristol? I'm returning to the sport and would very much like to meet up with other shots in the area! Regards Jon

JONO
Hi Billy - BT must be messing me about again. I'm a shotgunner who's returning to the sport and am looking for a similar rough shooter for pigeon decoying/roosting and also pheasant/general game shooting. I'm planning on securing some shooting North and East of Bristol whilst also maybe joiing any small syndicates I come across in the meantime. What are you up to? Billy Vincent
Hi again Jono, I'm also retuning to the sport after many years. I have always shot air weapons primarily, although I have dabled with some clay pigeon shooting, which was great! On many occasions I've thought about getting myself a shotgun licence, and arrange some serious tuition. At present I own a Logun pre-charged .22 air rifle. As soon as my BASA membership comes through, I plan on doing the rounds, with an aim to getting some shooting permission, on the outskirts of Bristol, or even further afield, such as Dorset. It's no secret that the amount of game down that way is generally more plentiful than around these parts. I'm not sure how easy or difficult it might be to get shooting rights, however! I have a freind who likes to hunt with a Harris hawk, but the land that we have been using, out near Pensford, is now quite barron. However, he seems to have gone his own way anyway, and is concentrating on fishing and birds of prey. I do keep in touch with some of the local community in Pensford, and I'm always on the lookout for opportunities. Anyway Jono, if I do get any luck, I'll let you know straight away. I should add that I like to do things in the right way, in terms of respect for the countryside, and wildlife, and I assume you are the same (I hope that doesn't sound as patronising as it reads!!). Anyhow Jono, as I say, I will keep you informed, and maybe we could join up for a shot or two. Regards, and thanks for the reply, Billy
JONO
Good stuff Billy - I'll be doing the rounds in the next couople of weeks as we hit spring and farmers get a little more protective about young crops
