PaulJC
I have to date not shot any pests or tried to gain any permission anywhere, i am happy with my equipment and know my shooting limitations and would now like to maybe start trying to find myself a small permission to start shooting away from just targets and ranges. This leads me to two things, firstly i openly admit to having zero hunting experience and was wondering if there are any people/places that do guided days so i can shoot pests and vermin alongside someone with experience? And secondly do anyone have any experience of approaching a school with a pest problem? as I was out the early hours of this morning working and drove past a school that clearly had a rabbit problem, 15-20 in the piece of lawn between the school building itself and the road so the potential for more further in the grounds. Any input/pointers? I already have BASC so thats not an issue... Many thanks in advance Paul
bakerboy
For pigeon shooting contact BASC they hold course on pigeon shooting. ELBY on the forum offers guided days at not too bad aprice. Shooting on council property i.e .,the school, will be a nightmare paperwork wise ,if you get that far. For pigeon shooting contact BASC they hold course's on pigeon shooting. HDAV
SgC/FAC or air? If FAC you will need conditions for vermin etc and permission try snd find some to show you the ropes. SGC there are guided pigeon days available as well as game in season. Air you need permission may be better to try and find someone local willing to take you out and shoe you the ropes . Just air at the moment, i'd love to be able to go out with someone locally but i don't know anyone and wouldn't expect someone who doesn't know me from adam to be prepared to take on that task (and to be honest i wouldn't be comfortable asking either)
bakerboy
Contact Paul "gnome in the woods" he could point you in the right direction to air rifle clubs, where maybe you could meet some like minded people, who may give you an invite. Have you tried Lea Valley Air rifle club at Hertford? Edited June 28, 2014 by bakerboy

Have you tried Lea Valley Air rifle club at Hertford? I have been to Lea Valley a few times but sadly work most Saturdays and have child care issues on Sundays in the day time and not many reasonably priced clubs/ranges are open in the mid week, i must dig deeper locally to see if i can find anything. Thanks for all your help guys, all answers appreciated.
