nderfel
A fantastic start to the day. BobSpadger and I took a wander round a permission we have. I watched the sunrise and the mist clear to take the first of the day with the 17 HMR at about 80 yards. Weirdly even though I shot him through the head he was racing round in circles until I got to him and dispatched him. When i got to him I scared a big old fox who i think was after a free breakfast, he shot back past me at a fair rate of knots, I don't know who was more surprised, Charlie or me! Bob turned up and we walked the boundary adding to the tally, I was happy with some of my shooting this morning after being a bit off the boil recently. A moving bunny at about 60 yards freehand was probably the pick of the bunch for me and we were soon done and dusted and home for breakfast by 07:00 with half a dozen in the bag. The 17 is a strange round sometimes, there are sprinkler systems at this permission and they were going full blast today, the 17 is such a light round that even shooting through light water vapour seems to have a massive effect. Still, I much prefer it to my .22 and the CZ455 is a mega bit of kit. Thanks Nick Edited July 31, 2014 by nderfel
