ditchman
Had to go off down the spa shop this afternoon (thursday) so i thought i would go for a little walk around the field margins where i was yesterday.... i wasnt going to "set" up with a hide and stuff , so i just slung the game bag and cartridges and A303 in the back with the dog...and off we went... the field is fully ploughed now and as i was ambling down the management strip inbetween the oak and ash trees i saw the farmer enter the field with tractor and harrow and at full throttle up the margin towards me !......thought i was in trouble for something...he pulled up and turned the engine off and said....."you are on the books full time"....i told him he could take his job "and shove it"....he laughed and told me he had told British sugar to stick their next contract as the prices are really poor , as there is a growing sugar mountain in the E.U.....so i said what are you going to grow now.......RAPE he says......."what about the neo-nicotide ban" i ask him..........he says it is not strictly a ban but will allow him to use the spray ONLY AFTER DARK so it wont have so much of an impact on the bees etc.......... several of the farmers are stopping growing rape around here so his fields will be the only ones for a distance.....he says it is a risk as the rape price is poor.....he has ordered me a 1000 cartridges, and told me whenever i am going shooting tell his missus what field and she will put the gas guns out on the other fields....nice one ehy ! the picture of the plough in yesterdays post, is the first field to be done, it is being cultivated as i write this at 5 o'clock....... i had a little walk around and got 3 birds and a smile on my face.... Question.. This is my well worn A303.....would you now class this as a classic...i know there is a big following of the A303 in the USA, this one is multi-26" as ever Ditch
