Lexion780
Hi All, Im looking at putting a Redfield Reflex 3-9 x 50 on a CZ 455 Varmint .22 and would like some advice on mounts please. I already have a 452 in .17 with a Leupold VX2 4-12 x 50 mounted to it, but I'm a bit fussy and i really dislike the big 'blocky' looking mounts which the gunsmith used to put the rifle together for me. Im putting the .22 package together and would like to go for something a bit smarter like my .243 rings. (pictured) I would like to mount the scope as close as possible to the barrel even if this means i can't put a Butler Creek on the front. I would also like the rings to be nicely rounded and slim, perhaps only using single Allen Studs in the top clamp or failing that very fine double ones (similar to my .243). All this is obviously to clamp onto an 11mm dovetail rather than having separate bases like my big rifle. I don't need them to be quick release or anything as once its fitted, it'll stay on there. Oh, and the Redfield is a 1" tube rather than the 30mm i have pictured, Not being genned up what all the different styles of rings are called, I wouldn't know a Weaver from a Burris or whatever, so some pictures to show me what your talking about would be great. Many Thanks, Jon
welshwarrior
I think this the sort of thing your after most air rifle mounts will hold up fine on a 22lr as there is no recoil to speak of. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/mounts--rails-1-tube-mounts-(11mm-38-dovetails)-nikko-1-mounts/nsr38bm-.html
bullet boy
I've got Sportsmatch mounts on most of my rifles and they are superb! You won't go wrong with them especially on a Rimfire rifle.
