demonwolf444
This sparked a conversation with a friends dad, who has been a countryboy all his life and never lived more than 20 miles from where he was born. I was talking to him about hares and why people around where we have permission say "leave them be, there are not many about", which always surprises us as in every field there will be four or five. The friends father told me when we was 10 or 12 he used to beat on the driven hare drives which used to take place in the area, he told us that they would regularly take 60 to 80 hares so when the old boys are telling us there are not many hares its comparative to a time when there were significantly more hares.
