Madcowz
Hi, Not your usual request, but I want to drop the power on my Victor as it is causing the scope to creep badly. Many moons ago when I was at school (Just worked it out, was 20 years ago <sigh>) I bought a tuning kit for my Victor which included a new spring, spring sleeve (guide?) and new washers. It fired well for many years but now the scope rails are a little thin and seem to give no grip. Also the gun feels like it is too wild. I want an easy to handle gun, with little recoil (relative to the fact it is a spring gun) that I can shoot close targets accurately. I have had a good google but can't see anyone selling air rifle springs. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? thanks. /mad
WeihrauchPower
Sounds like your old tuning kit has seen better days. If a springer is kicking like that it needs some attention. Take it to a gunsmith who'll help you out with new spring/washers etc and a general grease up and she'll be as good as new.

Hunter
Maybe its time for another spring gun? 20 years is a lot of use for a springer. If it means a lot to you, send it off and have it tuned. This will bring the recoil and 'twang' right down that affects the scope mounts. The thing is, I have had this gun since 3rd year at school (1988) bought it for £2.50 and a packet of Polos. Used to shoot with it all the time but then moved to University so gave it to my Grandad to cull the pigeons in his garden. When he died two years ago, the gun came back to me. I gave it a good clean, reblacked it, stripped the stock down and oiled it and generally made it like new. If I have to buy a new one, I probably wouldn't bother as I have the two shotguns (12 bore & .410) but maybe it is time to move up to a PCP one, esp as I have 3 children just nearing the 'time to start shooting' age. But it does mean a lot to me :-) and I like old things. Have more history. Oh what to do. Last question.... where could I send it off to and roughly how much would it cost to sort out? thanks for your help everyone. /Mad
