This season I will shoot my current syndicate, but for next season I'll probably need to find a new one. We haven't settled on a location yet and a syndicate availability could sway our choice. We'll be looking at Slough +/-25 miles to live, and I'd like to be within another 15-20 miles to the shoot so there is a fair amount of area included. The current shoot is DIY, walk one/stand one, 12 organized days per year (full gun, I'm currently 2/3), rough game shooting (boundaries, not drives) on non-drive days, plus pigeons/pests/vermin throughout the year. We put down 1400 birds and average 40-45 bird days (only pheasants counted) from that. I'd like to have something similar but am flexible. 1- Does anyone know of any DIY shoots in these areas? 2- Does anyone know of any potential availability on shoots for these areas? Since the season ends in Feb (including pigeons), I'd want to participate in the 'off' season portion of the shoot (improvements, clean ups, etc.) as much as possible to get to know everyone.
