Tenderum fridge kit.

Just seen this in the Bushwear catalogue, I have been using a tall larder fridge as a chiller now for a year or so and my efforts of a internal framework are not really high enough for a fallow so always cussing while trying to prise a buck in ( have managed a fallow buck and roe doe in together with tyre levers :yahoo:) plus always felt it needed some kind of ventilation. The kit is around £40, just about what the fridge cost me so decided to investigate parts on flea bay. A piece of alley tube, end caps and a pack of four ventilation vents totals £12, I already have the hole drill and hooks so should be a doddle.

Here are some pictures, the alley bar is 30mm and I hole drilled through both sides to accept bar and then added a couple of end caps to finish it off. There are side vents both sides with grills on outside as well. The fridge is deeper than shown as only photographed to top of salad shelf. The fan was already part of the fridge. I can keep it at a pretty steady temp down to 2.5 C. I used a anti fungal silicon to tidy up holes on outside of bar as these attract condensation and will rust exposed cut metal. The fridge is an expensive bosch larder type but, as with many larder fridges, the magnets have weekened in the door seal ( new seals £80), thus I bought it for £40 notes. The door stays shut but have added a couple of the anti child opening straps on side just in case the dogs start trying to get in  ( always have their noses at the door if I leave my shed door open).

Have kept all shelves as handy for rabbits, pigeons or butcher meat waiting for collection.

The wire dangling down in one of the picks is my digital thermometer that I usually insert through butt hole of carcass to check on temp. Works a treat and total of modifications i.e Alley bar, end caps and ventilation grills was just over a tenner.
