bangabunny
Hi Guys, has anyone had any experience with either or both of these shotguns? They both seem to be in a good price bracket for a new gun, the problem I have is that none of the gun dealers within a 40 mile radius of where I live (Bognor Regis) have either of the mentioned guns in stock. Any advice or info would be much appreciated also are there any used ones out there worth checking out, thanks all.
Breastman
The first question you need to answer is what are you wanting to use the gun for? Both are most suitable for Practical Shotgun (PSG), and PSG is more or less all you can use a BR99 for (although i have taken mine to my local clay shoot for a laugh!) If it is for PSG you should be aware that when you compete you're placed in divisions according to the type of gun you're using. the JMPro would put you in Standard Division (as long as its not a ported barrel version) and the BR99 would put you in Open. There are FAR more people in Standard than there are in Open, so if you're wanting to compete against the most people then thats the division to be in. Conversely there are far fewer people in Open, however those that are there are likely to have spent a lot of time and money on their guns to get them running as fast as possible. Next, while the JMPro is 'ready to go' out of the box (but be VERY careful with the magazine spring - a guy at my local PSG shoot ruined his last weekend man-handling it), the BR99 needs a bit of work doing to it to get it running right, you also have to factor in the cost of magazines (4 x 10rd mags is about the least you can get away with). However with the JMPro you will have to factor in the cost ofa loading belt, which can run anywhere from £25-£300+! I've written a couple of reviews/pointers on what you need to know about the BR99 here; http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16491 http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18425 Part 3 should be coming out soon!
