Harry136
Hi, Im shortly going to be upgrading my Hatsan Escort to a Benelli M2. I have a Nordic Components Mag Ext on the Hatsan and am wanting to put it on the Benelli, obviously i need a new thread adapter for this to work. My question to any M2 owners is- What is to distance from the front of the handguard to the end of the barrel (chokes inc), can you please include barrel length with any answers. Harry136
Thanks, looking forward to your reply, im just hoping my current mag tube is the right length so i can save a bit of cash! Could you also give me the length of the barrel from the front of the receiver to the muzzle. Edited December 16, 2014 by Harry136
Torbruk
Ok, if I assume correctly and by hand guard you mean the fore end then it's 470mm on a 28" barrel version. To the front part of the trigger guard on the same gun is 186mm. Hope this helps. If not just ask and I'll re-measure.
Harry136
yep i meant fore end, just come out of the Army so used to rifles. Dont need it from the trigger, but the actual front of the metal block where the foreend meets the metal work. Could you also give me the length of the foreend, thanks. Torbruk
Ok, sorry to be a pain, but do you want it from the receiver to the barrel end? Probably easiest if you save a picture of an M2 and mark in Microsoft Paint where you need the measurements taken. Happy to oblige.

Markbrowning
Before you purchase from Midway check stock at: http://www.aw-armoury.co.uk/nordic-components-44-c.asp http://www.blackguns.co.uk/nordic_shotgun.html Should be cheaper. brett1985
bare in mind, that if your buying a 3 shot M2 then you'll want to factor in either getting the tube crimp removed, or buying and un-crimped one. if it was my gun and my money, i would be doing the latter of the two..... FIL converted his to section1 and originaly had his crimp knocked out, it never fed properly. put on an un-crimped tube and it works like a dream.... Harry136
For now i'm keeping it a Sect 2 , just having the tube on to look good. Will be converting to a Sect 1 in due course, once i have moved house and found somewhere new to shoot birds. I will be buying an uncrimped tube when the time comes. Harry136
In case anybody was wondering, its NOT illegal to put on the mag extention. I did it to my Hatsan with my FEO's blessing. As far as he was concerned I can do anything cosmetic to the gun as long as it is over the legal length and that it cannot mechanically hold more than 2 in the magazine. Which also means that if you have a Sect 2 Benelli, if you ghost load it or adapt it to ghost load, then you are committing an offence. Harry136
Personally i wouldnt be admitting that on a public forum.............
brett1985
meh, nothing wrong with saying its do-able. just doing it while your out shooting is a no no. you'll find that you'll be able to do it with your M2 when you get it. with the nordic extension tube fitted to my 1301, it holds 10 3inch carts in the mag. use 2.75 inch carts and i can fit 11, plus one in the chamber and another ghost loaded. makes for some, erm, interesting shooting.....
