Hi,

I have been a member of a rifle club for a couple of years now and shoot my CZ 452 there. When i got my FAC i decided to get a co-terminus (SP?) so i bought a 12b Rizzini O/U to fill that slot. I do probably 70% targets 30% clays at the moment, so i would like to think i am safe and a not a bad shot with either.

I would like to start doing a bit of pigeon/rabbit shooting this year which inevetably involves knocking on farmers doors, handing out cards etc.

The only problem is that i have read loads about shooting, despatching, preparing and cooking but have had no practical experience. Im not even 100% sure i can morally do it  although i am a fly fisherman and have no problem killing trout for my plate.

I suppose my request if for advice, and maybe the opertunity to follow someone round on a walk round the farm to go over the basics. (wouldn't want to go bunny poppin and feed the family mixi rabbits :good: )

Im in the lancashire area.

Cheers

Jon

I'm sure someone on here will be happy to help you. I'm too far away so I'm no use to you, but hopefully someone closer may be able to sort you out. Are you a member of BASC? Or at least have insurance for the field. It helps a lot if you can prove that the land owner will be covered if you mess up, both for your own permission and finding a partner willing to take you out
