jon0881
Hi, I have been a member of a rifle club for a couple of years now and shoot my CZ 452 there. When i got my FAC i decided to get a co-terminus (SP?) so i bought a 12b Rizzini O/U to fill that slot. I do probably 70% targets 30% clays at the moment, so i would like to think i am safe and a not a bad shot with either. I would like to start doing a bit of pigeon/rabbit shooting this year which inevetably involves knocking on farmers doors, handing out cards etc. The only problem is that i have read loads about shooting, despatching, preparing and cooking but have had no practical experience. Im not even 100% sure i can morally do it although i am a fly fisherman and have no problem killing trout for my plate. I suppose my request if for advice, and maybe the opertunity to follow someone round on a walk round the farm to go over the basics. (wouldn't want to go bunny poppin and feed the family mixi rabbits ) Im in the lancashire area. Cheers Jon
njc110381
I'm sure someone on here will be happy to help you. I'm too far away so I'm no use to you, but hopefully someone closer may be able to sort you out. Are you a member of BASC? Or at least have insurance for the field. It helps a lot if you can prove that the land owner will be covered if you mess up, both for your own permission and finding a partner willing to take you out
jon0881
Sorry, i should have mentioned. Yes i am a fully BASC memeber. I went clay shooting yesterday and tagged allong with a group of shooters, from which i got some pigeon shooting for £50 a day. Cheers Jon
njc110381
That will be a good place to learn. Once you get the basics, I'd be tempted to give up the paying part if I was you. Once you get a shoot of your own that is! Good luck with it anyway, I hope you get the experience you're after and enjoy yourself
webber
Hi I will try to organise a PW get together and shoot at Kelbrook in a couple of weeks when McF returns from his mission in France, so keep an eye open for the post. I'm not too far from you. webber

The shoot is is winwich, which is not very far from you at all? Do you do a bit of clay shooting?
