ronan nee
hello all. been looking to tighten up my groupings with .223. and have been messing around with different loads. the rifle is a remington 700 1in 8twist. one man suggested reloading. the long and the short of it is that i havent a clue about reloading, what i need, how to and what to, you get the idea. is reloading an option. have being grouping 1" and a half to half inch at 200. there is not a great choice of ammo around here to work with so is making my own the answer. giving loads of time between shots and i am not cleaning like mad. good advice needed ronan

JohnGalway
AFAIK it's illegal as yet, which isn't to say some people aren't doing it just that you're not allowed. Like a lot of things here you can buy most of the gear to do it, on display in the last gunshop we were in. But, to the best of my knowledge you're not allowed to have the powder or primers, the actual bullets themselves I don't know. From what I gather it's meant to become legal this year. But (yeah again) personally I expect normal folk (plinkers, hunters and the like as opposed to serious target shooters or olympic shooters) to have to jump through rings of fire and go to considerable expense to be allowed do it. I'll be pleasantly surprised and will seriously consider eating my hat if I'm wrong about that. Be nice to your Supernintendo/firearms dude
ronan nee
thanks for your PM earlier john. got me thinking about the legal side forgot all about that . I am finished with our supernintendo/twit/bull ****ter/firearms dealer when the cz comes be good to know about reloading anyways. what is it some people say (before you become wise you have to be stupid)or something like that. ronan
Graham M
You have had the good sense to ask Ronan, which is a lot more than some other s have done. I’m sure that both John and Frank will give you all the info’ there is to know about reloading in Ireland. G.M.
JohnGalway
Would love to get into reloading myself as well, we'll have to wait and see what comes about. The people who "negoatiated" for the shooters seem to be busy infighting elsewhere online, that's when they're speaking to each other What can ya do, all very Irish. There has been some information of dubious quality on the subject here. There are a lot of rumours, wouldn't really believe 99% of them until they actually happen. Ahhhhhh you SAY the CZ will be your last gun......... ~FAMOUS LAST WORDS~ I can see you getting a HMR, another shotgun and at least 1 more/different centrefire rifle say in the next 5 years

Frank
Is their an end to buying guns, i ask you lot? ronan, it is still ilieagle to reload in this country, ( Eire ) , but, apparently, this summer it is about to change. I reckon for the worse meself. I have actually just come off the phone, talking to a good mate and source of leagle info ect. We will all, have to, hand anything above .22lr in and then re apply for it, threw the comissionor. So, when we do re apply, our house must be completey alarmed, ( Ericom Phone watch) locks on all windows, ect ect and a target shooting club, as well as being a member of the N.A.R.G.C, is a must. The club, must be approoved aswell. We are in for a tough ride lads, HOLD ON, to your seats. Frank.

I mean they couldn't even get the gun amnesty right (threw out a pistol or two which were in evidence bags ). If that were to happen I could see the Tikka being shown the door Got quoted 1200 Euro for Phonewatch on this house, nearest fullbore target shooting range is in Tullamore. Oh well, snares here we come
Frank
Lurchers, whippets, ferrets ect, here i come too. JohnGalway
ronan nee electrical services ltd. house alarms installed. top rates ronan Quick, ban him for blatant advertising Do I get a guarentee with that? And I don't mean you showing up in the middle of the night with the .223 if the alarm goes off (Mind you be better than the cops who'd arrive 5 days later).
