Gun Watch Posted February 7, 2015 Report Share Posted February 7, 2015 Cogswell and Harrison £1,350 300 Rook Rifle Private Seller Used - Excellent Condition Northampton, Northamptonshire Side lever Description A fine English Rook Rifle in .300 Rook calibre, made by Cogswell and Harrison of New Bond St, London, 1892. 27" oct. barrel, side snap action, rebounding hammer, 3 leaf sights. Top class walnut with silver escutcheon. The rifle was made for Lord Norreys(Norris), who had a very famous ancestor, Sir Henry Norreys(Norris), who lost his head (literally) on 17 May 1536, after being accused of adultery with Anne Boleyn. Rifle is in excellent original condition with a fine shooting bore. Comes with certificate of origin from the makers.
