Marksman1997
Hello there! Just looking a little bit of advice on a custom stock that i am looking to get for a TX200HC. I have already decided from the optional extras that i want a Rosewood Cap on the pistol grip +£20. Unsure about Skip Checkering vs Stippling? I definitely don't want standard checkering. (Find myself leaning towards skip checkering instead of Stippling) Any advantage of one over the other or is it all just look? Any pics of your Skip checkered or Stippled Air Rifles would be really cool and give me a better comparison between the two. Skip Checkered +£12. Stippling +£15. And the last optional extra is Adjustable Recoil pad... Any real advantage of this in the field? as it is mainly hunting that i will be doing. Adjustable Recoil Pad +£30 Also the adjustable pad is bannana shaped (prob not official description) as opposed to flat. Does this make it sit in your shoulder better? Thanks in Advance!!! maverick 16
Flat, the ends of the Banana will catch in your clothing, I speak from bitter experience............... will you be using a scope?

Thanks for the reply. Yes will be getting a scope for it. Anything you would recommend? Looking at Hawke Sport HD 4-12x50 IR AO?
maverick 16
The reason I asked about the scope is that when I had the banana shaped pad on my rifle I could never get it pulled into my shoulder comfortably when looking down the scope, I was always aware of the corners of the pad to the point where it became irritating. Thanks Lad! Great advice! I don't really want to pay a extra £30 for a Irritating/Bitter Experience! lol I don't really have any need for it! The standard pad on TX200HC is already pretty nice! Will do the Job for Me! Thanks Again!
rich_morris
Personally, I would go for the adjustable pad. It helps get eye alignment with the scope more easily in the field I found. Consistency of hold is the key when shooting springers, and repeatable mounting is easier with the curved pad. (I do not think the edges are quite so severe as shown on the CS one) The CS800 came with that as standard I thought? But that was a few years ago when I got mine. I think i am going for the Adjustable Pad on the CS700 as i used a Adjustable Curved pad on a friend's gun and really liked it!
