walt1980
Recently bought a gun which had been lacquered by the previous owner, hadn't taken the wood off the action so it's in all engraving. Used an aluminium brush on it but wondered if anyone knows a better way??
Gunman
Depends on the lacquer but solvent of some description is best .If stripping fully down then boil off with light washing soda solution . Assuming of course that the action is steel and not painted alloy .
walt1980
Yeah it's on a Beretta EL so a bit reluctant to use anything too harsh!
Dibs
Id seek the advice of a good wood man like Jim Spalding. the nickel plating on Berettas is **** at the best of times without subjecting it to anything too harsh Edited March 22, 2015 by Dibs
