LARRO
Hello gentlemen. I hope to use my new (to me) Tikka T3 Tactical .223 on Saturday and I am in the process of setting it up just for the range. Fitted the scope and set the gun up for prone position which meant I had to lift the adjustable comb section to get a good view through the scope. In doing this I have the problem of the bolt coming in contact with the front of the raised comb. I have looked at this a few times and cannot see how I can remove the bolt without lowering the adjustable section and therefore affecting my setup. Surely there is something a miss but I can't see it. Any ideas please. Any shooters with Tikka Tactical stocks have this problem. Thanks. Darran. fieldwanderer
I have the same with my centrefire and one of my target rifles. The target rifle has threaded "studs" so once the nuts are in the required place it goes back spot on every time. The c/f has smooth "studs" and simple grub screws. So, I've simply marked them with a permanent marker to put them back right easily. I'm not familiar with the tikka's cheek piece but it's not really a big issue when you get used to removing it each time, just find an easy way to go back to your preferred setting easily and you'll soon come to think of it as next to nothing really
The Mighty Prawn
I've got a GRS stock and same thing, have taken to measuring the gap between the stock and comb with my fingers and using that to reset when I have dropped it to take the bolt out. Bit of a pain but necessary evil for those like me with high cheekbones, guess it's the price you pay for chiselled good looks!
LARRO
Yes I see what you are doing with your setups. With the Tikka Tactical the comb has notches on the mounting rods so as you adjust up and down they click and you know when to stop for your adjusted height. But at our ranges part of the safety procedure is to remove the bolt every time we need to go down range to reset targets which can be a fair few times. Maybe I could cut some of the front of the comb to accommodate the path of the bolt as the comb is only plastic. Thanks for your input lads. Darran. LARRO
Will they not allow a breech flag? They are not used but can suggest the use to the right people. Thanks. Darran.
