fieldwanderer
I've been thinking about getting a pickup, what made you choose the hilux over any of the others?
michufc
To be honest I have had a navaras and a l200 before both good vehicles but the hilux is a lot more comfortable for me and my family and just seem more refined. Now don't get me wrong they are expensive but the hilux holds it's money far better than the others this was a big factor for me aswell. fieldwanderer
Thanks, I wouldn't be looking to buy any newer than about 2008 anyway so it'll have already lost most of what it's going to, I was just gathering info really to help me decide. Personally, I doubt there's much in it for what I want it for. Mpg being the biggest thing in a lot of ways; works a 60 mile round trip so even a couple of miles/gal will make quite a big difference. michufc
Well I have been running my hilux now for two weeks and I have covered 310 miles and the on board mpg says 27mpg and that's driving normally. My navara got me around 22mpg but my l200 was only ever a second vehicle for the dogs and lamping so I am not sure what that was giving me but it was 2002 model
fieldwanderer
Thanks for the comparison Sorry, didn't mean to take over your thread, there's not much to say really - other than all the best with your new toy
al4x
The only issue really with them is mpg as the 3.0 does do 30 at best. They do have a 2.5 but it's far rarer, the competition of a similar age are better but depends how much you need the 3-5mpg
