NathanM
Hi,I have made my own NV unit, but am now working towards making it more compact. I have managed to salvage a viewfinder from an old video recorder, and powered it up, but have no idea which wires are for video. When stripping back the cable connecting the viewfinder to the main housing, I have found nine individual wires! As it turns out the red and orange are for power, but if anyone has any idea about which would be for video it would be greatly appreciated! I've attached a link to a picture of the wires.Thanks,Nathanhttp://i.imgur.com/FqT6DL0.jpg
FalconFN
I've used a Panasonic viewfinder before and they can be a pain. Once you know the + and - all you need to do is to use an AV signal from a camera to find the AV in wire. If you touch the correct wire you will get a flickering screen full of zig-zag lines, which is fine as the image will appear properly only when the camera and viewfinder share the negative wire. The other 6 wires can be cut off as they aren't needed.
NathanM
That's great thanks, found it! Much easier when you can use just a common negative from the power!
