Your best option I would say is get an external hard drive from someone like PC world, and get someone you know or PC world help desk, to copy the files from the old machine to the hard drive and then to the new machine.

 

Then use this hard drive on a regular basis to take a copy of your documents/pictures/videos. Keeping everything just on your laptop means that if something goes wrong with its main disk you will lose it all.
