RussD
I have had kennels & worked ESS for shooting and trials for 20+ yrs & one single bit of advice woud be - read the small print. Many policies insure the dog in its place of residence & nowhere else - useless Many policies do not insure your dogs in transit - useless Many policies insure the dog as a pet and will not cover injuries sustained by working - useless Many policies impose a massive excess payment for working injuries while 'pet' insurance carries a small cost - useless I have also found that the 'operators' you speak to on the telephone are not always clued up properly - speak to a manager and you may get better results. We searched long & hard over the years and the only real policy for working dogs is via BASC - comprehensive and nothing hidden. We have sent lots of hours covering different policies and nothing comes close in cover. That is not to say that someone has produced something better - it's just that I hav'nt found it myself.
