Savhmr
Anyone have any experience of the new 4-18 x44 or the older 4-14 x 44 scope? On paper, they look good value and the long range guys in the States seem to rate them highly. Quality Japanese fully coated optics not usually seen on budget scopes. I know I shouldn't be tempted as I've a range of nice decent quality optics already, but am thinking ahead with a variation in for a few new centrefire rifles (target and stalking use). Not normally a fan of cluttered rets but these seem sensible (milrad adjusters and mil based rets). Only issue that I can see for hunting use is FFP ret would be way too small and indistinct at lower magnifications, but other than that, they seem a belting good buy. Fullbore rated up to and including .338 too.

roger3167
Have them on my .223 and. 308 also have the fixed 10 x on my rimfire, I think they are excellent value for what they are., “milky” picture as you get upto and passed around 600yd but still very serviceable at longer ranges. Savhmr
Thanks for the feedback. My only reservation is the rets used on the M18 which may not suit field work as much as target. The mildot version looks like it has slightly thicker ret lines than the B20 ret and I'm a fan of basic mildot rets (easy to use in FFP), so may order one and try it.
