bigdev
Tryed a few times over there. Hard to get a good flight line due to the lack of birds All you have to do is ask Mr Farmer ! All he can say is YES or NO ?
M ROBSON
I've spoken to quite a few shooters from N Ireland that come over to shoot in Scotland and I get the impression that getting the sole shooting right on good ground is quite difficult. If your not up early in the morning then the chances are someone else will be there and several shooters might pass through the day hoping to get a shot! From what I've been told the number of shooters far outweighs the good shooting. They also tend to get an influx of birds in the winter months. Mark. Cakie174
Roborton I might be able to help you out. I am of farming breed stock and a very experienced shot. Unfortuanetely i have no experience in decoying pigeons. It may be possible for me to get you land in my area in return for some accompied basic teaching. I live in the Dungannon/Cookstown area. 08shooter
next year if all goes well shoulkd be a great year for pigeons,i know every spare field round here is being sowed out in either wheat or barley.as the man says get out and knocking,i have 1000s of acres to shoot over,my father is a farmer and i shoot most our neighbours ground.any further afield and i get on cos my father has a good reputation so gaining ground has never been a problem for me.i dont think you will get pigeons in the numbers you were used to in england there are less over here crows are a plenty.try your local farm feed mill and ask if you can put up a page offering free pest control.or farmers markets. Brisa
Just got two shoots myself in Belfast/Comber and there is some amount of crows. If it wasn't for the real **** weather today I would have got more than one. Not a lot of pigeons about mind, seen a few but out of range/flew away.
