Psyxologos
I have a Williams target peep sight on my Winchester Model 94AE but the aperture is rather large, i.e I see a large circle through it. I would like a smaller aperture, but I am not sure what size. How can I find out which one I do have so I get a size or two smaller? On a side note (as I do not think it matters on the aperture choice), I am not sure whether my peep sights are the FP (aka foolproof) or the 5D. How do I find out? Any help on either of the questions is much appreciated!
Albert 888
If you have a drill bit set find the one that best fits the hole,if you get what I mean, then you have a rough size of the one you have and go from there. Underdog
Think their web site will explain the difference in models. With a receiver peep if you go to small it will go dark being away from the eye a few inches! Have you tried it without the peep, as a 'ghost ring' as they call it? Psyxologos
Thanks for your replies guys. Very helpful. No, I have not tried it without the peep, that;s an idea, I will have a look. Someone recommended that I should go for a Merit Sight Disc, which apparently is adjustable. Underdog
If it was a tag sight then yes.
Underdog
Also in bright light you can get glare off the gloss finish. I blacked mine with matt stove paint.

Underdog
A tang sight is fitted to the top tang and is much closer to the eye. https://www.google.co.uk/search?safe=images&source=android-browser-type&client=ms-unknown&redir_esc=&q=tang%20sight%20image&hl=en-US&qsubts=1443478283993#imgrc=_xCYesEnFLmz9M%3A Edited September 28, 2015 by Underdog

No, mine is just a regular peep sight, at least it looks like one...
