Time to take action

To have a gun fitted correctly you need a try gun, the only person around here that I know of with one is Radcliffes in colchester.

I would book a lesson with Robert and then take your measurements to Jim Spalding on mersea to do the alterations.

There probably is someone in your area, but I can't help with that.

I heard that Simpsons in Newmarket do fitting, but that might just be hearsay.

You actually beat me to posting the same question. I shot a terrible 55/100 on Saturday and it looks as though I have been hit in the cheek with the butt of a gun, so I need to go to someone to get the fit checked and adjusted.

SimonP said he knew of a guy that could do fitting too (as I remember slowly). I'll give him a shout and see if he can pass on the details.

Whereabouts in Suffolk are you by the way?

Indeed I do. Although I've not used him yet, my stepbrother highly recommends this chap:

Sam Grice

Long Acres Shooting School

Mill Road

Great Wilbraham (just next to Newmarket)

Cambs

01223 359856

07850876826

He does lessons, brushups, problem solving, etc etc and has a try-gun in order to set you up right.

I plan on taking a couple of lessons, getting the try-gun fitted and then taking the numbers and my gun to the local gunsmith for sorting out.
