wildfowler.250
So I have a week off soon and fancy trying somewhere different. I stay in north of Scotland but have a couple of friends in the Lockerbie, Carlisle, lancashire area. Is there anywhere in these particular areas that are worth trying? Thought about the solway? Seems a huge area though. Lindesfarne? Would love to go somewhere with the chance of a pintail,(only ever shot 3) shoveler, pochard, gadwall. Truth be told I'm a lot more interested going for ducks than geese and get plenty mallard/wigeon/teal at home so is there anywhere that's particularly good for the "other" species? Ive got all the gear and dogs but the whole thing seems a bit daunting.. Cheers!
anser2
Get yourself a " where to watch " bird book ( there is one for most coastal counties ) and you will be able to find what estuaries hold the sort of wildfowl you are looking for. Then see if there is a BASC club offering day tickets for the area. Edited January 10, 2016 by anser2

wildfowler.250
Thanks dawntredder for the reply! I'm keen to do foreshore stuff/see somewhere new. Lindesfarne would probably tick a lot of boxes. Is it easy enough for someone new to the area to navigate? Any B&Bs folk would recommend? I'm guessing a few on here shoot it? Thanks!
