colinmullis286
so i set up a target at 100 yards, with the gun in a vice so it was steady and would'nt move. i tested 3 makes of bullets, winchester super x, cci LR HP's and rws dynamit nobel's. they were all fired through a CZ452 21" barrel with a parker hale moderator, using 4-26X80 mm scopes with sunshade, the trigger has also been changed to a custom one with 1.5lb pull. here's the gun, heres the first test with winchester super X subsonics heres the second test with rws dynamit nobel subsonics heres the third test with cci LR HP's
Cyber
hehe, I take it you are sticking with the RWS ones then!!!
colinmullis286
hehe, I take it you are sticking with the RWS ones then!!! if you look at the photo's the rws target only has 4 holes but there was actually 5 shots fired at the target. and yes rws all the way down here in cornwall winchesters are 3.90 for 50, cci's are 4.99 for 100 and the rws are 2.88 for 50. so mid range on the price but a far superior bullet, rws are also coated in wax and the hollow point in filled with wax aswell. fieldwanderer
At 100yds plus I've been using remington viper ammo (1410 fps) hypersonic. The grouping's about the same as your cci group but they've still got 89 ft/lbs at 100yds (159 at muzzle) so they've got a lot more "umph" They're solids (as apposed to hollow points) but I don't have any problems with stopping power so I'm happy to use them They're pretty noisy if you're near a hedgerow or anything but shooting out into an open field (or other open space I suppose) they're nearly as quiet as subsonics If you're not too bothered about noise and want more power (for foxes for example) hypersonics are great, you can get hollow points that are even higher velocity, they're next on my shopping list
