BASC is fully committed to supporting the march and calls on all members to be in London for what is expected to be the biggest civil right demonstration that Europe has ever seen. Chief executive John Swift said: "We will do everything we can to ensure that our members understand the issues and realise what is at stake. The government's attitude towards a ban is a touchstone for its approach to wider rural concerns, and shooting cannot be excluded from these. BASC strongly urges every member to make plans to be there on 22nd" The banners and placards prepared for last year's march - abandoned because of foot and mouth disease - are piled ready for action. BASC will also support the CA's rolling campaign of events throughout the summer - the Summer of Discontent - which will build up the pressure on politicians before the march. Further details of the march will be announced in the near future. Please keep an eye on the sporting press, and BASC and CA websites for information. A comprehensive action plan will appear in the August issue of The Voice of Shooting but the pressure on accommodation and transport will be immense so you should start to think now about booking a coach for your club or syndicate.
