SP3 IN 10GA

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried SP3 in ten bore steel or HW loads. looking at trying to slow down using my A Steel and 381 stock pile without resorting to buying inferior and expensive factory mamoths and such like.

Was counting on good ols CSB0 but even thats gone now.

forget sp3.

its too fine a powder, meters great but the steel wads are more set up for flaked powder not small granular...

also sp3 seems to be a tad too slow.

Well cookie i was thinking along the same lines as you, kind of like a spherical 2400, but SP2 turns out to be quite a bit quicker than the burn rates sugest, i waqs wondering is SP3 the same, The .410 shooters seem to get on with SP3 i was hoping some one had tried it. I just got 4 tubs of ADI 2 AP 100 and 2 AP70N organised when a mate comes home in a months time. Have a look at that stuff see how it goes.

i looked into it and sp3 is a nonstarter. i was tempted to put a 32g 3.5" load together with a fibre wad / plastic cup format. but thats silly talk.

Hearing you loud and clear i apreciate the input and wont be trying SP3, The search for a A Steel CSB0 replacement, must contine though. SSB150 Looked an option, but it fails compared to steel or CSB 0. The ADI powders notably AP100 are aparently steel capable, and i can get it so will try that see how it goes.

Yes Edenman i used it back end of the last season 3n38 showed most promise in the ten load weights i use, SP3 would have been a little cheaper to load thats all.

Will probably end up using Vitavouri but trying to keep my options open in these uncertain time re powders supply.

Hearing good things about ADI ap100 should have it next week.
