Which manual do you guys use for your loads , do you use the lee manuals or the hornady one , I am about to start reloading but wondered which bible to use , cheers.

I take it you are reloading center fire rounds. Either of the manuals are good but you should make sure you pick one that has the recipe for the powder you are using. I only reload shotgun shells at the moment.

Rifle or shotgun get the Lyman manuals they have a wealth of info in then all in one place.

Loading .223 still got to pick powder etc depending on which bible I buy .

If you can get varget it works pretty good in the .223 i dont have .223 but mate i shoot with a lot runs one, just fill up the case ...Winchesters... with varget around 27 grains then seat the bullet 50 grain sierras or 50 v maxes .

Seems to work for him, its a easy little round to load for the .223.

I would pick powder etc based upon what you can buy.

 

FWIW for heavy .223 bullets, Vhit N140 has proved pretty good. Go for a faster pwder like N135 if you are shooting lighter bullets. I have never struggled to buy Vhit, unlike other brands.

 

As for which book to buy, I have Lee and Speer, both have a lot of info worth reading.
