Ric
Now then folks, I have a .22 Theoben Fenman which I am well happy with. The gun is some 6 years old now, and has been totally faultless throughout. It curently gives 11.4 Ft lb on a reliable chrono with H&N hollow points which I use for mostly Feral pigeon. I see on the Theoben website that a pump is available for "adjusting" the gas strut pressure. I am thinking of buying one to top my rifle up to around the legal 12Ft Lb again. Has anyone ever used one of these pumps ? I am concerned at over - pressurizing, and want to stay within the legal limit. Is it possible to over pressureize ? Thanks in anticipation
TROUT POUT
I wouldn't bother if I was you, 11.4 on your chrono is about where you want it because different pellets produce different force so you dont know what the cops are gonna use if they suddenly wanna check it out!!!Also theres not really much difference if flight and force between 12ftlbs and 11.4ftlbs
Ric
Thanks for that, In reality I have not noticed any difference in my rifle at 11.4ft lb, than from whatever it was new ! I guess I just had a hang up over 0.6 ft lb. Looks like I save myself £67.00 on a pump I dont realy need as well.
Pigeon_decoyer
11.4ft lb is perfect you wouldn't relize the different as long as you hit them in the right place it dont really matter! PD
sammy the bull
to be honest mate you only need about 4ft lbs to dispatch your quarry cleanly { thats the amount of power on arrival of the pellet}. and tobe honest you will have anything between 6 and 8 ft lbs shooting with a muzzel energy of 11.4 ft lbs. so you have a perfect and ample power for your fenman. id leave it alone if i was you......like the old saying goes: "dont fix it if its not broken" ........
