herby
As above it took a while for people to start doing home made night vision spotters/scope ad ons but they are quite easy to make one yourself. Is thermal going to go down the same path or is it a different story?
buze
Thermal are a WAY differently ball game than night vision, however, you can buy pretty 'cheap' (aka, a LOT cheaper than a few years back) thermal cameras these days. I got one for my phone that plugs into it and is pretty nice, however the resolution and range is /very/ poor. It's handy to walk around a house and see if any heat is leaking, or measure gradients etc but I really don't see that as being ready to put on a scope... ... Unless you could find a way to 'overlay' that poor resolution over a night vision image. There could be ways to do that, but it would require pretty serious hardware to do it.
