Salop Matt
Hi folks just want to share a warning to others. Our two terriers go everywhere with us but we always do our best to keep an eye on them and what their up to. Wednesday night I walked our boys and put them to bed all happy. But we awoke Thursday morning to clear and foamy vomit from our jack russell, is my was everywhere and in a large volume. Rushed him to the vets and they weren't sure but have him pain relief, antibiotics and anti acid medication and something to stop the vomiting. It took the edge off things but he till wasn't right but nothing was standing out sso we had blood run which showed nothing. Yesterday morning he was really bad and has started to bloat, so he had a ultra sound and x-ray which suggested a bockage in his gut, 2 hours of emergency surgery and alot of tears later they removed two peices of rotten maize cores! Today we have a very sore and scared Toby but we are nursing him. We have not get him corn on the cob or had him near any but about 6 weeks at the wife was finding these stalks up where she keeps her horse, carried by crows from 2 fields away and dropped from their perch on the overhead power lines. We clearly missed little Toby eat this but it's been hidden inside him for 6 weeks before raising its head. Please keep an eye on what your your legged friends pick up especally if in maize cover crops.
