Nutmeg also taken in excess is supposed to have some effect too. I remember there was a cold medicine called John Collis Brown compound that was taken off the market for the same reason. Ah yes collis brown cough mixture reputed to have some sort of opium content, I had a friend who would drink it straight from the bottle, never heard him cough, never heard much from him to be honest, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
