Turns out Hardox isn't bullet proof

Thought I'd just try out my .308 before going stalking next week. Fired some 150gr home loads at one of my Hardox gongs from 100 yards. Whether it was a poor shot or whether the zero is slightly off I'm not sure but managed to hit the eye on the gong. It cut the steel road pin in half too (and I'd only put it in yesterday!) as well as cracking and deforming the Hardox.

I moved position and shot at another gong from a high seat at 50yards. Didn't break it this time but the spelter (?) cut a trench in front of the gong that was about 2" deep and 6" wide. I know it's only soft earth but one wonders how far the splash travels sideways where it does directly hit the ground
