PSNI having a laugh

:good:

Called the Firearms branch of the PSNI today to see how the application was coming along, seeing it had been 8 weeks since it was dropped in at one of the station's in Belfast.

Turns out they haven't even looked at it yet!

Was told that they are currently looking at March's applications and will be working on April's when they finish (in a week or two) Was also told that it will be six weeks once they finally get to it. So therefore, it will be approx 16-18 weeks before it is dealt with.

Have contacted the countryside alliance and am considering contacting my local MP about the shambles they call the civil service here.

I can understand a temporary backlog, however the delays are increasing. IMHO it is about time that something was done, be it take on more staff or whatever.

Since laws were relaxed over here things have just snowballed due to the extra applications, however there are not (that I am aware of) any extra staff to deal with it so things will just continue to get worse.

I also find it amusing to say the least that they tell the countryside alliance they are processing applications in 6 weeks. (That's direct from the CA who were very interested to hear of my story.)
